Solution to swapped " and @ on Windows 7 & 8

If your ” & (@) keys are swapped as show in the picture above then this tutorial is for you. In this tutorial I’ll show you how to fix this problem.

To fix this follow the simple steps below:

1. Go to region and language on the control panel of your computer.

2. Go to keyboard and languages

3. Change the default input language from English (United Kingdom) to English (United States).

4. Then go to Advanced Settings.

Under language for non-unicode programs click on change system locale. This setting controls the language used when displaying text in programs that do not support Unicode like web browsers for example. Lastly, change system locale from English (United Kingdom) to English (United States). Apply settings and restart to implement changes. This also works for Windows 8.
